Neighbors in Santa Fe complain to Popular Power about
lack of doctors in their area.
RANCHUELO, CUBA – April 29 (Felix Reyes Gutierrez/Puenteinfocubamiami.org)
- Residents of Santa Fe, in Havana, have complained to the Popular Power
regarding the lack of medical personnel in their area.
A group of residents in Santa Fe, are demanding a response from
representatives of the Popular Power in their area, regarding the absence of
doctors in their area, but only receive evasive responses and
justifications.
Eduardo Hernandez, a member of the National Council for Civil Rights (CNDC)
and resident in that town, said that there are 58 thousand residents living
in the area and they only have one clinic with 27 doctors offices and twenty
one of them are closed due to lack of doctors or because of structural
damage.
The source finished saying that of the medical personnel in the locality 8
defected abroad, 16 are in missions in other countries, 12 are in
administrative positions and that about 40 are left to treat the entire
population in the area.
