Arrested and tried opponent in Ciego de Avila
CIEGO DE AVILA, CUBA – February 1st (Roberto Hernandez Valdivia /
www.plantados.org) – On January 21 of this year, the Cuban political police
arrested Victor Luis Albrisa Diaz, a member of the Democratic Party 30 of
November in Ciego de Avila, accusing him of meeting with anti-social and
disaffected elements of the Cuban revolution.
The source of this information adds that the Chief of the police unit,
Captain Eduardo Blanco Tamayo, aka Cheo, asked a court to sentence Albrisa
Diaz to 4 years in prison for the supposed crime of ¨Social Danger¨.
On January 25, Albrisa Diaz was tried behind closed doors, without the
presence of witnesses and was sentenced to 2 years and 6 months of forced
labor and was banned of meeting of visiting with opponents to the regime.
Victor Luis Albrisa Diaz, 19 years old, is a resident at Street 4 # 108,
Georgina Neighborhood, Violeta Sugar mill, in the province of Ciego de
Avila, Cuba.
