– Yoandris Gutierrez Bargas, member of the youth opposition movement
“Jovenes Plantados de Bayamo¨ was transferred to a prison after spending
several days detained in criminal investigation unit of the Cuban regime.
Last Tuesday, January 22, Gutierrez Bargas was transferred to the prison
“Las Mangas”, charged with a supposed crime of contempt and other charges.
According to police, he will be held in the above mentioned prison until the
day of the trial.
Yoandris Gutierrez Bargas was arrested along with three more youths for
demonstrating publicly against the Cuban regime. Awaiting trial are
Rigoberto Zamora Rodriguez and Gutierrez Bargas.
The source added that a few months, Gutierrez Bargas was released from
prison after serving a one year sentence, after being charged with
belittling homeland symbols. In reality, last July 26th, while waiting for a
visit of Fidel Castro in Bayamo, this courageous activist painted a Cuban
flag black along with the number 75, symbolizing the group of political
prisoners of the Black Spring.
