They repress
independent journalists of the Villa Clara Press Agency.
SANTA CLARA, CUBA - February 8 (Guillermo Farinas Hernandez,
Cubanacan Press / Puenteinfocubamiami.org) – Independent journalists of
the Villa Clara Press Agency Yancy Villa Clara Ruiz Martinez, Carlos
Rodriguez and Michael Yuniesky Garcia Lopez, were repressed on January 29,
in Santa Clara, because of their activism in the opposition.
Ruiz Martinez, Michael Rodriguez and Garcia Lopez, who were detained since
the night of the 28th, at police units 3rd, 4th and 5th of the capital,
were subjected to threats and warnings before being released.
Yancy who recently served one year in prison for a supposed crime of
Social Danger, was fined 20 pesos and Yuniesky was fined 30 pesos on
January 29th, 2008.
Officers of the political police told the three independent journalists
that if they continued with their activism in the opposition they would be
arrested.
