in Trinidad were mistreated.

RANCHUELO, CUBA - March 4 (Reyes Felix Gutierrez, Cubanacan Press /
Puenteinfocubamiami.org) - On February 27, citizens Duanys Gilberto Zerquera
Miranda,Lexiyan Cantero Marin and Michel Marin Borges were mistreated by
members of the uniformed police at the Trinidad Police Station, Sancti
Spiritus province.
Manuel Antonio Sanchez Rodriguez, held in the cell # 7 of the police unit,
reported that about 2 a.m. three guards led Zerquera Miranda to a corridor
on the compound and they punched and kicked him before
leading him into a cell.
Jose Miguel Rodriguez, an inmate at the compound eye witnessed the beating
given to dissident Cantero Marin by a couple of members of the National
Revolutionary Police who used billy clubs to brutally attack the dissident..
Similarly, Marin Borges, who suffers from schizophrenia, received a savage
beating at the police station because he was arrested at a Cuban beach
designed only for tourists, located between La Boca and Ancon in Trinidad.
According to Benita Lidia Miranda, mother of Duanys Gilberto a Major at the
police station refused to allow her to see her son and informed her that he
along with his friends were going to be charged with the supposed crime of “contempt”.
