They paid tribute to
victims of the Castro regime.
RANCHUELO, CUBA - March 18 (Felix Gutierrez Reyes, Cubanacan Press /
Puenteinfopcubamiami.org) - Nearly a dozen peaceful Cuban opponents paid
tribute last March 12, in Santa Clara, to victims of the struggle against
the Castro regime.
Jorge Luis Artiles Montiel, who attended the event at the local cemetery
stated, that they paid tribute to Tomas San Gil alias El Puritano and his
guerrilla group who died fighting on March 1st, 1963, at the Escambray, Las
Villas province.
They sang the National Anthem with a burning candle, later, seven members
representing the Cuban National Liberal Party, Civic Nationalist Movement,
Plantados until the Liberty and Democracy in Cuba and the Political Presidio
“Pedro Luis Boitel”, conducted a recount of the events that occurred in the
above mentioned date.
Finally, the former political prisoner and president of the Civic
Nationalist Movement Idalberto Gonzalez Gomez read the names of the 14
courageous fighters who were killed by the Castro regime in the 60’s, and
requested a minute of silence in their memory.
